Merge PDF

Merge multiple PDF documents into a single unified file, preserving all pages, formatting, and embedded content from each source document. This is ideal for assembling reports from multiple chapters, combining scanned receipts, or consolidating contracts and annexes into one deliverable. Drag and drop to reorder files before combining, giving you full control over the final page sequence. All processing runs locally in your browser, so your files never leave your device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tool really free?
Yes, all our PDF tools are completely free to use with no hidden costs, subscriptions, or per-file charges. We support the service through non-intrusive advertising, not by charging for basic document operations. You can use any tool as many times as you like, with no daily limits, file size restrictions, or account requirements whatsoever.
Are my files secure?
Absolutely. All PDF processing happens directly in your browser using local JavaScript and WebAssembly libraries. Your files are never uploaded to any server, never stored in the cloud, and never transmitted over the internet. The files remain entirely on your device from start to finish, giving you complete control over your sensitive and confidential documents.
Do I need to create an account?
No registration or account is required to use any of our tools. Simply navigate to the tool you need, upload your file, configure any options, and download the result. There are no sign-in walls, email verification steps, or profile setup processes. We designed these tools to be immediately accessible without any friction or onboarding.
What browsers are supported?
Our tools work on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Brave on both desktop and mobile devices. JavaScript must be enabled for the tools to function. For best performance with large files, we recommend using a recent version of Chrome or Firefox on a desktop computer with adequate memory available.
How many PDFs can I merge at once?
You can merge as many PDF files as your browser's memory allows, typically dozens of files without any issues. For best performance, we recommend keeping individual sessions to 50 files or under 500MB of combined data. If you need to merge very large collections, consider merging them in batches first and then combining the resulting files in a final merge.
Can I reorder PDFs before merging?
Yes, the file list supports full drag-and-drop reordering before you start the merge. Simply drag any file up or down in the list to position it exactly where you want it in the final document. You can also remove files from the list without starting over, making it easy to adjust your selection before committing to the merge.
Will merging affect the quality of my PDFs?
No. The merge operation combines pages from each source PDF directly into the output document without re-encoding, re-compressing, or altering any content. Text, vector graphics, images, fonts, and embedded data are all preserved exactly as they appear in the original files. The resulting PDF is essentially a concatenation of the source documents.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Password-protected PDFs that require a password to open cannot be merged directly. You will need to use our Unlock tool first to remove the password protection, then merge the unlocked files. PDFs with only permission restrictions (but no open password) can usually be merged without any preparation.
Does the merged PDF preserve bookmarks and links?
Bookmarks (outline entries) and internal links from each source document are preserved in the merged PDF. Links to external URLs also carry over correctly. However, internal page links that point to specific pages within a source document will be adjusted to reflect the new page positions in the combined document.
